Is my web-hosting and domain name included in the price of the online quote?
No. The online quote is for designing, programming, an uploading your site to the appropriate web server. It does not include web-hosting and domain name costs. However we would me more than happy to help you purchase your domain name and web hosting package. We have lots of experience with web-hosting companies and can help you choose one that meets your site's needs. See our resources page for companies that we recommend.
Can I update the website myself once it's completed?
- If you have web developing or text editing software such as Adobe Dreamweaver or Allaire Homesite, Goddess Design can make it easy for you to see where text updates and image replacements can go. (We recommend this only if you are familiar with html and css programming)
- Let us update your site for you! Goddess Design updates all our website every Wednesday. Just email us the new information and we'll update your site for you promptly!
- OR you can have us build you a site in a custom content management system or a pre-built CMS such as Word Press. If you site is built with CMS you can update it yourself using a WYSIWIG editor (what's that?)
Will my website come up immediately on search engines?
Most web crawlers will pick up your site within six months of it being launched. However, it doesn't mean you'll be highly ranked within search engines. To do this, you may have to purchase a better ranking within the search engines themselves such as google, yahoo, etc. Or hire a great SEO team to help increase your search engine rankings.
Why are some of my friends are having trouble viewing my interactive content?
Not all computers or web browsers have their active X controls enabled to view higher end interactive content such as javascript. Have your friends go into their tools menu on their browser and then click internet options to make sure their active X controls are enabled. Also, make sure you have the latest flash player downloaded and installed.
